Here’s why

Over the last year especially, we've seen Gen Z rally behind causes they care about including voting, anti-racism, climate change, and other important concerns. Here at Rem and Company, we’ve experienced their desire to learn and help their community firsthand. As the world shut down, we opened our doors and began helping small businesses navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

When small businesses needed help, our inbox was flooded with messages from students wanting to dedicate their time and skills. Our initiative originally focused on providing young professionals and undergraduates with an opportunity to advance their skills. However, it was clear that students even younger wanted to get involved and that we needed to create opportunities for them to get involved. 

We are committed to not only keeping doors open but opening new doors by providing students with a safe space to learn and professionally develop.

Rem and Company’s Fellowship Program seeks to provide high-performing high school juniors with an interest in pursuing a career in business strategy with opportunities to help their local community while cultivating valuable business skills.

Getting involved

Here’s how

Through our six-week immersive experience, high school students will have the opportunity to put their problem-solving skills to the test. They’ll identify large-scale problems facing small business owners and work together to support each hypothesis with research and data. They’ll receive personalized mentorship from our leadership team while also interacting with students from prestigious universities and professionals from Fortune 500 companies. 

Behind the name

Our fellowship is named after our founder’s grandfather Denham Lloyd Porter who passed away on May 10, 2020.  He is remembered as a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, uncle, neighbor, and friend but most of all as an advocate for education. Throughout his life, he always stressed the importance of education to his children and grandchildren and encouraged the pursuit of excellence.
